Signature Fragrance...

Do you have one? I do...Nina Ricci "L'Air Du Temps"

I came across this delicious fragrance at the age of 13, when my at-the-time best friend's mother (named 'Nina') wore it. I fell in olfactory love immediately and claimed it as my signature fragrance. Having never been a lover of any type of 'Rose' scents, the spicier notes in this sexy, subtle, seductive potion appeal to and have kept me a tried and true devotee. Little did I know at that time that this is one love I would never fall out of, and that I would be eternally loyal to.

Created in 1948, this post WW2 fragrance which (according to the Nina Ricci website itself) symbolize emblematic values which remain Universal today...PEACE, FREEDOM and LOVE.
Elena Vosnaki has written a wonderfully insightful article about this intoxicating blend...

Spring Has Sprung...

Here in Las Vegas, NV. the trees and bushes are all flowering (and apart from the odd day here and there) most days the temps are hovering around the mid-60's Fahrenheit. It's a great time to get out and enjoy some Las Vegas wildlife like that found at Springs Preserve, Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire or Mount Charleston...

Being the kind of person that warms up easily anyway, getting outdoors more means that I'm already tapping into some of my summer clothing, as well!

Today I happened upon this super cute spring/summer polka dot peter pan collar dress, from GoJane paired up with these easy wearing knotted maryjane wedge shoes, also from GoJane. Both look like they were inspired by the rich colors of the Southwest soil and deep mountain shadows...

Attention to Detail...

I was perusing the Internet this evening and came across these shoes, which I find to be extraordinary in attention to detail...not to mention, they look so classy and comfy!

Not much of winter here in Las Vegas...

and because of the unusually warm 'winter' weather here in Nevada (and the rest of the US), I'm already sporting my favorite sandals! Very comfortable and so stylish. This is a great alternative to a flip-flop.

Pair these warm toned sandals with a cool toned pedicure (like Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color in "Gunmetal") for a great neutral look! PS...I adore toe rings!

Jennifer Lopez in THAT Green Dress...

As soon as I saw this green silk caftan, it brought to mind that green (Donatella VERSACE) dress worn by JLo at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards in 2000...Seiden-Kaftan Palm-BeachSilk Caftan (above) by Matthew Williams $625 USD

Pour La Victoire a la Bandolino?

I am LOVIN' these Bandolino "Poise" Green Suede shoes. Why? Because I could never wear this color green near my face. Aren't they super?!

Another reason is that they remind me a bit of these fabuloso green Pour La Victoire "Paige" Heels below...(which sadly, are not to be found in green anymore, but look amazing in Black!)

For Hand Grabbing Compliments...

My all time favorite nail color/product is without a doubt Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips, in "Kitty, Kitty". When applied as instructed, these last for weeks! I've had them last as long as 28 days (basically, I was just ready to try a new design). They provide my nails with such a good degree of protection that I've seen amazing improvement in strength and length. I usually apply a coat of Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color, in "Flawless" around the 7th day and every 4th day there after.

Say 'HELLO' To The Girls...

I've been on somewhat of a quest now to find a mannequin/dress form. Being one that likes to get the most for my dollar, there's been a lot of comparison (on many levels) shopping going on.

Just the day after I said 'no' to an offer of buying a new-ish form (sans stand) at $60.00, I came across a new Craigslist posting for antique dress forms being sold in my town. I saw pix...and drooled.

Long story short, I got TWO fantastic forms from a very nice man named Randy, at the same price which I would have paid for that one I passed on; some things just seem heaven sent!

BTW. At this current time I have seen two of the Penneys DeLuxe going on eBay and Etsy for $175.00 and $200.00! I've seen two of the ACME going in the same places for $65.00- $200.00. SO...if you're in Vegas and are looking for antique dress forms, check that listing I linked to because Randy may just have a dress form for YOU!

Meet the gals...

Ms. ACME "V" on the right (circa 1930's-50's)
Thanks Again Randy
